The Solutioner

PRIVATE PHOTOGRAPHER IN IBIZA & MALLORCA

Booking a photographer for family, holiday, and private celebrations

A holiday in the Balearics is one of the few times in a year when an extended family is together in the same place, in good light, surrounded by a setting they will want to remember. A professional photographer for a short session, an afternoon, or an entire stay turns those days into a set of pictures the family will keep for decades. The Solutioner's personal concierge service for Ibiza and Mallorca includes photographer bookings as a regular request, and this guide explains how the service is shaped.

The Range of Sessions

The most common request is a one-hour or two-hour family session, usually at the villa or at a chosen beach or scenic location, often around the golden hour at sunset. A second common format is event coverage, a private dinner, a birthday celebration, a vow renewal, where the photographer documents the evening discreetly. A third, less common but increasingly requested, is documentary-style coverage of a full day or even several days of a holiday, capturing the unstructured moments along with the posed ones.

The Solutioner works with a curated set of photographers on each island, each with a distinct style. See also our guide on how the concierge service is shaped around the client's stay.

Choosing a Photographer

Photographer style is intensely personal. Some clients want highly polished, magazine-style portraits with careful composition. Others want a candid, almost reportage style where most of the shots look unposed. Some want black and white, others want the colour of the Balearic landscape leaning into the warm side of the palette. The Solutioner reviews the brief and presents two or three photographers whose work fits the description, with portfolios so the client can choose the right match.

For events, a photographer who has worked Balearic weddings and private events has the experience to read a room, anticipate moments, and stay out of the way. More on the wider event coordination is in our guide to putting together a wedding on the islands.

Locations and Timing

The light on the Balearics is one of its strongest assets. A session timed for the hour before sunset, in the right location, produces images that are nearly impossible to recreate in less favourable conditions. The Solutioner advises on locations near the villa, on the chosen beach, in the old town of a particular village, or in the rolling countryside of an inland valley, depending on the look the family wants.

Delivery and Rights

After the session, the photographer typically delivers a curated set of finished images within one to three weeks, depending on the volume. High-resolution files are provided for printing, along with a web-optimised set for sharing. The licence for personal use is unrestricted. For event coverage, an album or photobook can be commissioned as an additional service. The team can also coordinate florals and styling for the session at the villa alongside the elements covered here.
