POOL SERVICE IN IBIZA & MALLORCA

Year-round care that keeps a Mediterranean pool genuinely usable

A swimming pool in the Balearic climate requires more attention than a pool in cooler regions. The combination of intense summer sun, salt air on the coastal properties, and the seasonal swing between heavy use in summer and near dormancy in winter means that pools need consistent, technically competent care year round. The Solutioner's property management service in Ibiza and Mallorca includes a full pool programme, and this guide explains what that actually covers.

Weekly Service During the Active Season

From April to October, every managed pool receives a weekly service visit. The technician tests and adjusts water chemistry, cleans the skimmers and pump basket, brushes the walls and floor, vacuums the surface, and inspects the filtration system for any signs of stress. If the pool is heated, the heating system is checked at each visit. The report from the visit goes into the owner's monthly summary, so there is a continuous record of pool condition without the owner needing to ask.

During periods of guest occupation, the visit frequency increases as required. A large group with heavy pool use generates a different chemistry load than a couple, and the service schedule adapts to it. See also our guide on the scope of the full property management offering.

Spring Opening and Autumn Closing

The transitions at either end of the season are where most problems are either prevented or created. Spring opening involves a deep clean of the pool after winter, a full water replacement or partial refresh, a chemistry rebuild from scratch, equipment commissioning, and a heating-system check. If anything degraded over winter, this is when it is identified and addressed before the pool is back in use.

Autumn closing involves draining or lowering the water level appropriately, treating the pool to prevent algae over the winter months, covering it where a cover is fitted, and shutting down the heating and filtration in a controlled way. More on how Balearic property care moves through the year is in the guide to seasonal maintenance for Mediterranean homes.

Equipment, Repairs, and Upgrades

Pool equipment, the pump, filter, heater, and chlorination or salt system, has a finite life. The Solutioner's pool technicians keep a record of each property's equipment, including service history and likely replacement timing. When a component starts to fail, the team flags it before it fails completely, so the owner can replace at a planned moment rather than during a guest stay. For larger upgrades, such as switching from chlorine to salt water or fitting an electric cover, the team manages the project from quotation through to commissioning.

Operational Costs

Pool service is one of the predictable line items in the annual cost of owning a Balearic property. The monthly visit programme, the spring opening, the autumn closing, and the consumables are quoted up front and rarely change from year to year. Repairs and equipment replacement are quoted separately as they arise, always with the owner's approval before work begins. More on how the cost structure works is in the guide to what professional management actually costs.

The team can also coordinate grounds and garden upkeep around the pool area alongside the elements covered here.
